Hey to all,
Just wanted to announce this week’s rendition of the Jackson High School Wrestling Awards! A big emphasis this week was, as always, representing the team and school in a positive light AND being present at practice and matches. I am pushing these ladies and gentlemen to realize the sacrifice necessary to not only succeed in school and in wrestling but also in life and with your help with these nominations I believe we are making a difference. Without further adieu, here are you winners (Pictures Attached)
Jimmy’s Steak and Seafood RD4L Student of the Week: Clayton Hixon– ” Clayton Hixon spoke at the District PBIS meeting on Monday about the RD4L initiatives at our school. He was incredibly well spoken and represented us well.”
The Bennett Painting Scholar Athlete of the Week: Lana Miles– “Lana Miles has been an incredible young leader this entire semester. She has completed over 20 hours of community service with special olympics and local event support. She has excelled academically, earning 2 promotions and a starting spot on our school drill team because of her commitment to better herself and others.”
The J Timothy Elrod Construction Wrestler(s) of the Week: Lana Miles AND Clayton Hixon– Both wrestlers have made being at practices and matches a priority and I felt they both deserved to double up on the award. Lana has kept a positive attitude, continues working hard to improve, and is receptive of the advice from coaches and peers. Clayton had the choice to wrestle varsity or JV at a tournament with schools ranging up to class AAAAAAA. He decided to push himself and wrestle varsity and came away with 2 impressive victories.
If you see these two, please congratulate them on their awards.
All the best,
